Something different for Breast Cancer Awareness month this year will support the cats at Turpentine Creek. Many of you know that not only am I a 10-yr breast cancer survivor, but Mom is 30 yrs+ and even my male cat Nacho had a mammary cancer and gland removal 2 yrs ago. No one is immune! Please read the stories of the big cats at TCWR who have were diagnosed and treated for mammary tumors. Donations will allow them to purchase an AI-assisted portable ultrasound probe & tablet to detect breast cancer & other serious conditions in the animals.
This October, we're walking for awareness and early detection for the care of all the animals who call Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge home.
Inspired by Mani, Crystal, India II, and Marni, four of our residents who battled breast cancer, this campaign honors their legacy and drives real change in how we detect and create prevention strategies for all our animals.
How to Join:
- Pledge $10
- Walk 10,000 steps throughout October
- (Optional) Choose to create your own fundraiser to share with friends and family
Every dollar raised helps us reach our goal of purchasing a portable, AI-assisted ultrasound probe, giving our care team the tools they need to catch life-threatening conditions earlier, while improving the outcomes for the animals in our care.
This isn't just a walk.
It's a movement for all animal residents.
